CBR Staff Writer Published 07 January 2013

The system supports free apps for Samsung Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, and Apple iOS devices

Seagate Technology has introduced Central shared storage, a networked home storage solution at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The system provides automatic backup for digital movies and music from networked devices at home and remote access from outside a home network, including Windows OS and Mac OS X computers.

Seagate marketing vice president Scott Horn said that the system is the ideal backup solution for the family with multiple computers, tablets and smart phones

"Consumers will find Central storage is easy-to-use as a backup solution with great-looking apps that deliver access to people's content from the world's most popular mobile devices, as well as Samsung Smart televisions and Blu-ray players," Scott said.

The DLNA system is also capable of creating backup for photos, videos, music and documents that can be stored on social networking sites like Facebook.
